Mid-year
2026 Update

Motion isn’t momentum.
“Agility safeguarded value in recent years but now clients look to focus on the singular, dominating value creation idea that can propel the business forward.”

It’s halfway through 2026, and we’ve seen a shift in what our clients are looking for. Where it may once have been about helping clients move faster or adapt to changing conditions, now the work is focused back on fundamentals. 'Help us find our growth story again, the one or two things at the heart of the investment thesis.’

Agility inadvertently became the strategy.
Recent years threw a lot at business. For a half a decade the job was to stay in the fight. A new disruption every few months drove a sense and respond mentality. Companies got genuinely good at it, and agility earned its place as a core competence. Then it kept climbing. Somewhere along the way the skill that supported the strategy began to dominate. The behavior underneath turned with it: corporate horizons have slipped to the most short-term posture since 2009. Half of executives now admit they’d delay a value-creating project rather than miss a quarter.
We know the cost. We pay it anyway.
The constant pivot has a cost.
Portfolios often fragment into a dozen half-funded bets. Teams re-prioritize faster than any single idea can pay back. Even the growth-leadership seat is splintering with a third of the Fortune 500 no longer having an enterprise-wide marketing leader. The role is scattered across a half-dozen titles. Only half of new product launches are still growing by their second year; the rest are headed for delisting. Spread the effort thin and the math turns on you — change initiatives that are run at enterprise scale deliver on stated goals 83 percent of the time; when scattered across small, competing bets, it’s 28%.

Get back to clarity.
As clients enter annual strategic planning and begin detailing 2027 operating plans, this has been our focus. Helping teams define their real value drivers. Making clear choices, and pouring everything into those choices. Agility in execution, but not in strategy. The market rewards it. Focused companies out-return diversified ones.
In other words, Pick a Lane, Build a Plan, Make it Happen.
